11th Annual MUAHS Guild Awards: The Winners

Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild Awards

The Make-Up Artists & Hair Stylists Guild announced the winners of the 2024 MUAHS Guild Awards on Sunday night at The Beverly Hilton.

Melissa Peterman hosted the ceremony. Previously announced MUAHS honorees include:

  • Distinguished Artisan Recipient: Annette Bening
  • Vanguard Honoree: Michael Westmore (Oscar and Emmy-winning Make-Up Artist)
  • Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees:
    • Kevin Haney (Oscar and Emmy-winning Make-Up Artist)
    • Ora T. Green (Emmy-nominated Hair Stylist)

They had an envelope snafu with the very first award. They rolled the video for Best Make-up but then had the envelope for Best Hairstyling. You almost wish Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway were on hand!

At another point when presenting Best Special Effects Make-up to The Last of Us, the teleprompter says that there’s a tie but the envelope shows otherwise. The MUAHS are really giving the Oscars a run for their money!

A number of feature film winners were not in attendance, probably because of Sunday’s BAFTA Awards.
