Spider-Man: Homecoming: The Road to Endgame

Spider-Man: Homecoming is the best incarnation of Spider-Man on the big screen as the web-slinger joins the Marvel Cinematic Universe in his first big screen adventure. Following his brief appearance in Captain America: Civil War, Peter Parker/Spider-Man (Tom Holland) returns to the big screen for a new adventure.  For years, there was talk of Larry David playing the Vulture if Sam Raimi had been allowed to make a fourth Spider-Man movie.  I don’t know how…

My Favorite Films of Summer 2017

With an end to the 2017 summer movie season, it’s time to round up my favorite films of this summer.  While I was credentialed for both the Chicago Critics Film Festival, the Fantasia International Film Festival, and remotely covered a few films selected for the Flyover Film Festival, I am not including any of those films unless they’ve been released in theaters, video on demand, or Digital HD. Despite the box office appeal of Tom Cruise and Russell…

Spider-Man Homecoming: The Mid- and Post-Credits Scenes Explained

Spider-Man: Homecoming features a mid-credits scene and a post-credits scene. As tends to be the case for Marvel films, the mid-credits scene serves more or less as an epilogue to what we just witnessed on screen.  The post-credits scene is more or less of a thank you to the fans for sitting through the entire credits. In the mid-credits scene, Adrian Toomes (Michael Keaton), also known as the Vulture, is seen walking in The Raft. …
