Harry Dean Stanton, a longtime character actor, has died at the age of 91 years old. Stanton, a Kentucky native, will soon be seen in Magnolia Pictures’ Lucky. The film premiered earlier this year at the SXSW Film Festival and hit Chicago this past May during the Chicago Critics Film Festival, where it took home the Audience Award. As I wrote about the film in my review this past May, it’s really a tribute to…"Character actor Harry Dean Stanton dead at 91"

A statement on his fan page says that he died “at his home in Bell Canyon, CA, due to complications from Alzheimer’s.” A Chicago native, Berman performed back in the day with the Compass Players, a predecessor to The Second City. With the…"My Own Memories of comedian Shelley Berman"

It has been reported by that comedian Dave Chappelle is still making transphobic jokes at the expense of the transgender community–and he’s still missing the point. It’s not funny and if you think it is, you’re dead wrong. If you are cisgender, let me remind you that cis people don’t get to choose what’s transphobic nor do they get to tell transgender people what is or isn’t transphobic. If a trans person tells you something…"Dave Chappelle’s Transgender Jokes are Transphobic, Not Funny"
