Max: What’s Coming in May and June 2023

Max announced the list of films, series, and specials that are coming to the streaming service in May and June 2023 after their rebranding.

On May 23, HBO Max will become Max. The enhanced streaming service will be the destination for HBO Originals, Warner Bros. films, Max Originals, the DC universe, the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, an expansive offering of kids and family content, and best-in-class programing across food, home, reality, lifestyle and documentaries from leading brands like HGTV, Food Network, Adult Swim, Cartoon Network, Discovery Channel, TLC, ID and more, all in one place. The service will be continuously updated with fresh content, averaging more than 40 new titles and seasons every month and ensuring a steady stream of new programming to keep audiences engaged.

When Max launches on May 23, a large portion of subscribers will have their apps automatically updated, while others will be prompted to download the updated Max app. Customers can pre-register for Max on the Google Play Store or pre-order on the Apple App Store now.

Sunday, May 28 will bring the highly anticipated series finales of the award-winning HBO Originals Succession and Barry, and the season finale of Somebody Somewhere.

Launch week will also feature a new episode of HBO Original White House Plumbers (5/22) and the debut of HBO Original comedy special Sarah Silverman: Someone You Love(5/27), HBO Original documentary Being Mary Tyler Moore (5/26), and HBO Original film Reality (5/29) starring Sydney Sweeney; the premiere of lookback podcast Talking Sopranos (5/23), a new episode of Max Original The Other Two (5/25), the finale of Max Original Love & Death (5/25), and the debut of special 100 Years of Warner Bros. (5/25); new episodes of Food Network’s Ciao House (5/28), TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Love in Paradise (5/29), Discovery’s Deadliest Catch (5/23), and HGTV’s Home Town Takeover (5/23); debut of Magnolia Network’s Silos Baking Competition (5/28) and a new season of Growing Floret (5/23); a new season of DC’s Teen Titans Go!(5/25) and the debut of Total DramaRama: A Very Special, Special that’s Quite Special (5/25); the debut of ID’s The Curious Case of Natalia Grace (5/29); and a new season of Kendra Sells Hollywood (5/26).

Upcoming programming coming to Max early this summer includes the highly anticipated HBO Original drama series The Idol (6/4), a new season of HBO Original The Righteous Gemstones (6/18); HBO Original documentaries The Stroll (6/21) and Rock Hudson: All That Heaven Allowed (6/28); and HBO Original comedy special John Early: Now More Than Ever (6/17); new Max Original series Downey’s Dream Cars (6/22); new seasons of Max Original series Warrior (6/29), Discovery’s Ghost Adventures (5/31), TNT’s AEW All Access (6/9), and HGTV’s Battle on the Beach (6/4); a new season of Cartoon Network’s We Baby Bears (6/18) and TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days (6/4); and theatrical hits including Avatar: The Way of Water (6/7) and Magic Mike’s Last Dance (6/2).

Max will also launch with 35,000 hours of beloved programming for everyone in the household, including recent hits like the HBO Original series House of the Dragon, EuphoriaThe White Lotus, and The Last of Us, and full seasons of Max Originals including HacksAnd Just Like That…The Sex Lives of College Girls, Sort Of, Rap Sh!t, Titans, Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn, and more.

Audiences can binge iconic favorites including every season of HBO’s Game of Thrones (8 seasons), The Sopranos (6 seasons), Curb Your Enthusiasm (11 seasons), Sex and the City (6 seasons), The Wire (5 seasons), VEEP (7 seasons), Silicon Valley (6 seasons), and Insecure (5 seasons); bingeable favorites like Friends (10 seasons), South Park (26 seasons), The Big Bang Theory (12 seasons), Abbott Elementary (1 season), and Adult Swim titles including Rick and Morty (6 seasons) and Robot Chicken (11 seasons).

Max will be the home of lean-back entertainment from Discovery including bingeable audience favorites like House Hunters (197 seasons), House Hunters International (169 seasons),Property Brothers (14 seasons),Chopped (53 seasons), Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives (44 seasons), Ghost Adventures(24 seasons), Say Yes to the Dress (22 seasons), Deadliest Catch (19 seasons), Naked and Afraid (15 seasons), Mythbusters (21 seasons), Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations (8 seasons), plus Magnolia Network hits like Fixer Upper (5 seasons) and Magnolia Table with Joanna Gaines (7 seasons).

Max will have something for everyone in the household and include dedicated hubs for Cartoon Network kids programming and Sesame Workshop, which will include Sesame Street and other hit preschool shows such as Bugs Bunny Builders, plus classic favorites such as Looney Tunes CartoonsTom & Jerry, and Scooby-Doo. For film lovers, Max features an extensive catalog of iconic films including Casablanca, A Clockwork Orange, A Streetcar Named Desire, The Shining, Bonnie and Clyde, Some Like It Hot, Young Frankenstein, Cleopatra, the full Harry Potter film collection; DC favorites including Shazam!Black Adam, Aquaman, and The Dark Knight; and CNN Originals The Whole Story with Anderson CooperAnthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown (12 seasons), Who’s Talking to Chris WallaceStanley Tucci: Searching for Italy, and Eva Longoria: Searching for Mexico (5/30).

Additionally, Max will continue to be the exclusive streaming home of Studio Ghibli in the U.S., offering all 22 animated films including Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, My Neighbor TotoroPonyo, and Kiki’s Delivery Service, plus the Studio Ghibli documentaries Kingdom of Dreams & Madness and Never-Ending Man: Hayao Miyazaki.
