Jurassic World Dominion Trailer Makes Debut

Universal Pictures has released the Jurassic World Dominion trailer four months to the date before the Colin Trevorrow film is released.

After stepping away from the director’s chair for Fallen Kingdom, Trevorrow is back to helm the epic conclusion to the Jurassic era. A number of dinosaurs make their return but, as the late John Hammond says in the opening narration, life has found a way. Featured dinosaurs in the trailer include Parasaurolophus and Therizinosaurus. What’s most surprising is how we see some dinosaurs that we never saw at the Cromwell Estate. Is this Biosyn Genetics or Mantah Corp.’s doing? In any event, the film takes place four years following the events of Fallen Kingdom.

It wouldn’t be a Jurassic World Dominion trailer if you didn’t have at least one shot of Blue. Well, we have more than a few moments with the fan favorite dinosaur! Another moment places Owen Grady into the American West. I mean, it’s a shot that is straight out of a Western! There’s also one moment where the Jurassic Park stars join up with the Jurassic World stars. If you know me, it’s one of those moments I’ve been waiting for. While it would have been awesome to wait until the 30th anniversary in 2023, the release comes days after The Lost World: Jurassic Park celebrates its 25th anniversary.

Colin Trevorrow co-writes the screenplay with Emily Carmichael, based on a story Trevorrow wrote with Derek Connolly. The cast includes returning stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Laura Dern, Sam Neill, Jeff Goldblum, Daniella Pineda, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, and BD Wong and newcomers Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Campbell Scott, and DeWanda Wise. Scott is replaces actor and convicted sex offender Cameron Thor as Biosyn Genetics CEO Dr. Lewis Dodgson.

If you excuse me, I’ll be waiting patiently for June 10 (or whenever the press screening takes place) for my most anticipated film of the year. Bring it on!

Universal Pictures will release Jurassic World Dominion in theaters on June 10, 2022.
