Time Life is releasing The Ultimate Richard Pryor Collection: Uncensored, a 13-disc set with 26 hours of footage on September 28.
Before I get to the contents included in the collection, Solzy at the Movies is proud to debut an exclusive clip, “Hit on the Nose,” from the never-before-released Last Stand-Up Sitting Down. It comes from one of Richard Pryor’s final performances.
When they started to honor comedians with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor, Richard Pryor became the first recipient in 1998. In 2017, Rolling Stone would rank him as the #1 best stand-up comic of all-time. Most recently, I am Richard Pryor premiered at the SXSW Film Festival in 2019 before later airing on Comedy Central. There will never be another comedian like Richard Pryor ever again.

- Never-before-released footage from Richard’s infamous first film, Uncle Tom’s Fairy Tales, lost since 1968
