Men Don’t Whisper, one of my favorite short films that played Sundance and SXSW, is now available on Vimeo to watch.

The 22-minute short film was directed by Jordan Firstman.  Firstman wrote the screenplay with Search Party creator Charles Rogers.  The two of them star alongside Fort Tilden co-stars Claire McNulty and Bridey Elliott.  Elliott took home a Solzy Award in 2015 for her breakthrough performance in Fort Tilden.

Firstman and Rogers star as Peyton and Reese.  The two play a gay couple attending a sales conferences and they feel so emasculated that they end up making an attempt to sleep with women.  This is where the two women, Dominique (McNulty) and Beth (Elliott), enter the picture.

There’s enough material here to build on should Firstman and Rogers decide to expand this concept into a feature film.  Firstman has directed a few short films already but this film is ready-made for a feature film concept.  Given the Fort Tilden connection, it’s as if Men Don’t Whisper is a family affair.

Prior to being selected for both Sundance and SXSW, Men Don’t Whisper was available in early 2017 before playing a run of festivals.  It comes to Vimeo as a Staff Pick premiere.
