The Oscar-winning Forrest Gump, directed by Robert Zemeckis and starring Tom Hanks, marks its 26th anniversary since opening in theaters. Lincoln works as well as it does because the Abraham Lincoln biopic chooses to focus on the passage of the Thirteenth Amendment.
