Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi Fills In Missing History

Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi follows Ahsoka Tano and Dooku as the anthology series fills in some of the gaps in Star Wars history. There are a few phrases that I throw around every now and then: either in Dave Filoni I trust or in Kevin Feige I trust. When it comes to Filoni, he’s basically George Lucas’s hand-picked successor when it comes to Star Wars storytelling. What I love about these six episodes…

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Nails The Ending

After leaving audiences with somewhat of a cliffhanger, Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law nailed the ending in its season finale. Marvel didn’t make any season finale images available yet so I’ll replace the above image when they do. I shouldn’t have to tell you to make sure to watch through the mid-credits but I’ll remind you anyway. I’m going to get into episode spoilers below the logo image below so please do not read until…

Pinocchio: Disney Gives It Live-Action Treatment

Disney has given Pinocchio the live-action treatment so please prepare yourself to be horrified again by children turning into donkeys. The fact that Disney isn’t lifting the review embargo until the film’s Disney+ launch means they don’t have much faith in it. In all fairness, it would have gotten a theatrical release but then Covid meant releasing the film on Disney+. While Robert Zemeckis directs the film, it’s hard to believe that Sam Mendes and…

If These Walls Could Sing: A History of Abbey Road Studios

Mary McCartney takes us inside the walls of Abbey Road Studios for her feature directorial debut, If These Walls Could Sing. The film premiered during Labor Day weekend at the Telluride Film Festival. Over the years, the fest has become a mecca for studios to launch their Oscar contenders. In any event, Disney is using the opportunity to launch the Abbey Road documentary. If you’re not launching a musical doc at SXSW, Telluride is the…

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law Embraces Comedy

As Marvel’s She-Hulk: Attorney at Law makes its arrival on Disney+, it fills the DC’s Legends of Tomorrow size in hole in our hearts. “I’m not a superhero. That is for billionaires, narcissists, and adult orphans for some reason.” – Jen Walters/She-Hulk Press were only sent the first four episodes for review. Every episode includes a tag scene that follow the initial credits. The run-times for Episodes 1-4 are 35, 28, 32, and 34 minutes,…

Quality over Quantity: HBO Max, Netflix, and Disney+

With all of the issues surrounding HBO Max these days, the need to focus on quality over quantity could never be more true. Thursday’s earnings call shows the direction of HBO Max and it’s not one of churning content out just to churn it out. There’s already way too much content out there. You’d be surprised how many people decide to skip the new stuff in lieu of rewatching their favorite programs again. While I…

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation Is Fine

LEGO Star Wars Summer Vacation is the newest canon-adjacent special to follow the sequel trilogy crew in a post-TROS adventure. The Skywalker saga may have come to an end but there’s no shortage of new adventures with Rey, Poe, and Finn. Where Rey (Helen Sadler) had the big focus in the LEGO Star Wars Holiday Special, Finn (Omar Miller) gets the biggest focus in this one. Overall, this one is fine. Viewers are getting exactly…

Disney+ Sets New Premiere Dates, She-Hulk Moves To Thursday – TCA

Disney+ used their virtual Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour to announce premiere dates and a She-Hulk schedule change. The news for She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is great news for fans of both Marvel and Star Wars. Prior to the announcement both She-Hulk and Andor were set to have seven episodes conflict over four consecutive weeks. By moving She-Hulk‘s premiere to August 18, new episodes will follow on Thursdays. It allows Andor to take the…

Andor Pushed Back To Late September

With the release of a new trailer and artwork for Andor today, it was also announced that the series would premiere in late September. Initially, Andor was set to premiere in late August. What this now means is that there are fewer episodes that will be conflicting with She-Hulk: Attorney-at-Law. To be fair, Andor will air seven episodes opposite She-Hulk’s four during those dates. The new premiere date is now September 21 with an unprecedented…

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness on Home Video

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is now available for audiences to bring home and watch on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and DVD. What follows is my review from May with some modifications: Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness sees Doctor Strange journey further into the Multiverse in order to stop an adversary. As is the custom for Marvel films, there is a mid-credit scene and a post-credit scene. The mid-credit scene is…
