Abbott & Costello: The Complete Universal Collection

Bud Abbott and Lou Costello performing the classic Abbott and Costello routine, "Who's On First?" in Universal Pictures' The Naughty Nineties.

It’s a holiday delight for comedy fans as Abbott and Costello: The Complete Universal Collection will soon be available on Blu-ray.

This marks the first time that you will be able to bring home all of these titles in one box set.  You get not one but two different films featuring “Who’s On First?”  This is a comedy routine for the ages!  One version is performed in their 1940 debut film, One Night in the Tropics.  The second version is performed in The Naughty Nineties.  However, the version on their television show is not included unless it’s featured within the bonus content.

What is included in the set are bonus features, 10 new audio commentaries, a collectible book, and another bonus disc with more than eight hours of content.  It couldn’t come at a better time with 2020 marking the 80th anniversary of their first film, One Night in the Tropics.  When we talk about the great comedy duos, the list isn’t complete without these two.  They’re right there alongside Hope and Crosby, Laurel and Hardy, Burns and Allen, and many more.  The Marx Brothers were more than a duo so I’m not counting them.  Now, you will be able to bring home all these films and more on just 15 discs.

There are a total of 28 films spread spanning 1940-65 included in the set.  Two films with the aforementioned routine and the classic Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein.

This set is more than just a delight for comedy fans.  It’s going to be a must-own for comedy fans!  We’re talking about over 40 hours of fun!
