Hollywood blames Rotten Tomatoes for Poor Summer Box Office

Another day, another Hollywood blames Rotten Tomatoes on their poor summer box office showings article shows up.  I can think of some great films I saw this summer but they didn’t make much money being that they were independent movies and not the product of the Hollywood studio system. So it’s sad when I see Hollywood attacking us film critics yet again for their dismal summer when there were some great films released and they…

Nocturama: A Unique Terrorism Thriller

Nocturama is such a unique terrorism thriller and one that ought to be experienced on the big screen. Written and directed by Bertrand Bonello, the film stars Finnegan Oldfield, Laure Valentinelli, Hamza Meziani, Manal Issa, and Robin Goldbronn.  Bonello proves to be a triple-threat as he scores the film menacingly, too. The film starts as we follow a group of teens in Paris.  At first, we don’t know what they are up to but we…

Directed by Thomas Marchese with narration provided by The Shield alumnus Michael Chiklis, Fallen is a moving documentary that gives us some insight into police work and how they are impacted by their fallen service members.  After all, they are human. Did Marvel’s Inhumans underwhelm in IMAX?

Marvel’s Inhumans brought in $1.5 million over Labor Day weekend from 393 theaters in North America.  It shouldn’t be considered an underwhelming performance. I’m a Marvel fan and while I do watch Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., I’m seriously backed up on their Netflix programming.  I’ll be watching Marvel’s Inhumans during the upcoming 2017-18 television season but the fact of the matter is that I just wasn’t willing to fork over $14 or more to see it…

Doctor Who writer Gareth Roberts uses anti-trans slur in tweet

The Doctor Who series is no stranger to transphobia as actor John Barrowman pulled a transphobic stunt at San Diego Comic Con in July and now news comes that Gareth Roberts has posted a tweet with an anti-trans slur. Gareth Roberts tweeted: “I [love] how trannies choose names like Munroe, Paris and Chelsea. It’s never Julie or Bev is it? “It’s almost like a clueless gayboy’s idea of a glamorous lady. But of course it’s…
