Michael Caine makes voice cameo in Dunkirk

Michael Caine at 2012's Vienna International Film Festival.

Michael Caine has been a veteran of Christopher Nolan films for many years dating back to Batman Begins in 2005.  As such, it came as a surprise that the veteran actor wasn’t listed in the credits for the recently released Dunkirk.

Nolan, however, was able to sneak the acting veteran into the film with an uncredited voice cameo addressing Tom Hardy’s Royal Air Force pilot, Farrier, while in the air.  This enables the actor to say that he’s been in every feature film Nolan has directed since 2005.

Michael Caine’s next feature film appearance is Coup d’Etat, directed by Lisa Addario and Joe Syracuse.  The film co-stars Odeya Rush, Katie Holmes, Jason Biggs, and Seth Green.  The film held it’s first screening in June 2017 at the 22nd Nantucket Film Festival.  The New York/New Jersey premiere screening will take place on Thursday, July 27, at the 2nd Annual Indie Street Film Festival.

Written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the war film stars Fionn Whitehead, Tom Glynn-Carney, Jack Lowden, Harry Styles, Aneurin Barnard, James D’Arcy and Barry Keoghan, with Kenneth Branagh, Cillian Murphy, Mark Rylance, and Tom Hardy.

Warner Bros. Pictures opened Dunkirk in theaters everywhere on July 21, 2017.  Filmed with both IMAX and 65mm cameras, it’s best recommended to be viewed in 70mm.
